Cost Trends & Forecasting
Track how your spending changes over time and forecast future costs. Noros analyzes your historical cost data to identify trends, compare periods, and generate ML-powered projections to help you plan ahead.
Trend Analysis
Ask Noros how your costs are evolving over any time period:
"Show me my cost trend over the last 6 months"
"How has my AWS spending changed month over month?"
"Are my compute costs going up or down?"
"Show me daily spending trends for the last quarter"
Noros identifies whether spending is increasing, decreasing, or stable, and highlights the services or resources driving the change. You can view trends at daily, weekly, or monthly granularity.
Cost Forecasting
Noros uses ML-powered time-series models to project your future costs based on historical data. Forecasts include growth rate scenarios and variance bands so you can plan with confidence.
"What will our AWS bill look like in 90 days?"
"Forecast costs at 4% monthly growth"
"Project EC2 spend for next quarter"
"What's the cost forecast assuming 5% monthly decline?"
Forecast Configuration
Projection period — Forecast any number of periods into the future (e.g., 90 days, 6 months)
Granularity — Get forecasts at daily, weekly, or monthly granularity
Growth rate (CMGR) — Set a compound monthly growth rate assumption, or let Noros infer it from your historical data
Variance bands — See best-case and worst-case scenarios around the projection
Filters — Forecast specific services, regions, or other dimensions
How It Works
Noros submits your historical cost data to a time-series forecasting model that generates:
Projected costs — The ML model's best estimate of future spending
Growth-adjusted projection — Costs adjusted for your specified or inferred monthly growth rate
Variance bands — Upper and lower bounds showing the range of likely outcomes
Forecasts may take a few seconds to process. Noros handles the wait automatically and delivers results when ready.
Comparisons
Compare spending across time periods to understand how your costs are changing:
"Compare this month's costs to last month"
"How does Q1 this year compare to Q1 last year?"
"Show me year-over-year spending changes"
Noros highlights the biggest increases and decreases, making it easy to spot what changed and why.
Statistical Metrics
For deeper analysis, Noros can compute statistical metrics on your cost data, including mean spend, standard deviation, variation coefficient, and fluctuation — useful for understanding cost volatility and stability.
"What's the average daily cost for EC2 over the past 3 months?"
"How volatile are our cloud costs?"
Example Conversations
Forecasting:
"What will we spend next quarter?"
Noros runs a forecast model against your historical data and provides a projection with variance bands showing the likely range.
Monthly review:
"How has our spending changed over the past 6 months?"
Noros charts your monthly spending trend, identifies periods of growth or decline, and highlights which services drove the biggest changes.
Investigating change:
"Why did our costs jump between February and March?"
Noros compares the two months, identifies the services and resources with the largest deltas, and provides context for the change.
